1 : I used the red Record button to set a recording, but I recorded the wrong channel.
If the channel to be recorded is received via the external receiver first make sure that the external receiver was left switched to the "ON" position.
Next, in the Editor area, make sure that the channel to be recorded is correctly set:
- Use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Editor area from the main menu bar.
- Check the source and programme number of the channel that you wanted to record.
- Change the source and preset numbers if incorrect.

3 : Can I record from one channel whilst watching another?
Yes. But you must have a GUIDE Plus+ unit with more than one tuner, or you can use a splitter (Y-piece) and connect your GUIDE Plus+ unit and your TV separately. With a splitter you can connect one end to your TV and one end to your GUIDE Plus+ unit.
4 : Can I use the GUIDE Plus+ system whilst recording?
Yes you can fully use the GUIDE Plus+ system to view its contents. However you are not able to change channels, so the Video Window will show the programme that is currently been recorded.
5 : How many programmes can be scheduled for recording or watching?
This depends on the implementation of each individual manufacturer. Please refer to the Instruction Manual of your model for more information.
6 : If a programme is scheduled to record on a daily basis, does it count as five entries in my Schedule list?
No, if a recording is set to repeat always at the same time every day or every week, it counts as only one entry in your list of Scheduled programmes. You may add additional programmes for recording or scheduling up to the maximum set by the manufacturer of your GUIDE Plus+ unit.
7 : Why does my Schedule area only sometimes show the channel number and the start and end times of the programme I'm recording instead of the title?
Recordings scheduled via VIDEO Plus+®, PDC or manual entries are not linked to the GUIDE Plus+ and therefore do not have a programme title to store. Only recordings scheduled from the GUIDE Plus+ listings are linked to programme titles. Some units allow the renaming or manual entry of record programme title.
8 : Can I simply enter a VIDEO Plus+ code found in a TV Magazine to set my recording?
YES. There are two ways you may access this feature.
1. If you are out of the GUIDE Plus+ system, press the Timer button on your remote control. This will invoke the GUIDE Plus+ system and bring up the Schedule area. In the Schedule area, select the VIDEO Plus+ action button indicated at the top of the screen by pressing the red button on your remote control.
Use the keypad on your remote control to enter the VIDEO Plus+ number for the programme you want to record. VIDEO Plus+ will do everything else automatically.
2. If you are already in the GUIDE Plus+ system, use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Schedule area in the main menu bar. Once in the Schedule area select the VIDEO Plus+ action button indicated at the top of the screen by pressing the red button on your remote control.
Use the keypad on your remote control to enter the VIDEO Plus+ number for the programme you want to record.
Note: The VIDEO Plus+ feature may not be available in all GUIDE Plus+ models. Please refer to the Instruction Manual for your device to verify this.
9 : When I view the list of programmes to be recorded I find there is a feature to add time. Doesn't the GUIDE Plus+ system automatically ensure that I record the entire programme?
The record feature sets the recording start and end times for each programme according to the original schedule sent in the GUIDE Plus+ listings. However, the channel broadcasting the programme controls the actual timing of the programme. If the programme overruns its original time slot, then there is a possibility that the last few minutes of the programme would not be recorded. For this reason we provide an easy feature for adding extra blocks of minutes to your recordings.
10 : Can I use PDC to ensure that I get the correct recording?
Yes, you can use PDC. However, not many broadcasters use PDC and you may risk that the GUIDE Plus+ unit will not start with the scheduled recording because it is waiting for the signal.
11 : If I have a power failure, will I need to reset the recorded programmes I have already programmed?
No, the GUIDE Plus+ system saves your entries. However, you can always go back to the Schedule area to check and/or modify your entries after the power is restored.
