1 : I have two lines of the same channels in my area listed but I am only interested in one of them. What should I do?
Sometimes it is possible that the automatic scan during your initial setup discovers more than one channel with the same identification number. Please follow these steps to change the setting manually:
- Use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Editor area from the main menu bar.
- Select the channel that you would like to delete. - Use the red button to change the setting from "ON" to "OFF".
2 : Two channels in my GUIDE Plus+ listings are listed with the same preset number. What should I do?
Some channels use the same identification number. Normally this would not cause any interference because they are not broadcasted in the same region. However, in some regions where there is an overlap of GUIDE Plus+ data signals, it is possible that both channels are listed with the same and, therefore wrong, preset number. Please follow these steps to change the setting manually:
- Use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Editor area from the main menu bar.
- Select the channel that you would like to change.
- Use the green button and the number keys to change the preset number according to the settings in your region or your preferences.
3 : Why are some of my channels listed with the wrong preset number?
Your GUIDE Plus+ device will pick up preset numbers for each channel during the automatic channel search that occurs when you complete the basic installation of your unit. It is possible that these preset numbers do not match the presets in your TV or in your external receiver or that you have changed the channel lineup of your TV or your external receiver according to your preferences. However, it is important that the correct preset numbers are listed in the GUIDE Plus+ Editor area. Having the correct presets will ensure that you record from the correct channels and that you tune to the correct channels. Please follow these steps to change the setting manually:
- Use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Editor area from the main menu bar.
- Select the channel that you would like to change.
- Use the green button and the number keys to change the preset number according to the settings in your region or your preferences.
4 : I have listings for many more channels than I can actually receive. Can I remove them from the listings?
The GUIDE Plus+ system transmits listings for the most popular channels available in each area. The list of the channels displayed in the Editor area is determined by the parameters you entered in the initial setup to define your location and type of TV reception. However, the type of TV service / subscription you have determines which channels you can actually watch in your home. To delete certain channels from your listings, please follow these steps:
- Use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Editor area from the main menu bar.
- Select the channel that you would like to delete. - Use the red button to change the setting from "ON" to "OFF".
- Continue the procedure for each channel you would like to delete.
- When you are done, press Home to exit the Setup area. Your changes are saved automatically.
5 : My GUIDE Plus+ unit is not showing all the channels that I can receive. Can I add them?
First, please check if the channels that are missing are available in the Editor area. If the channels you are looking for are listed in the Editor area, then you must turn them "ON" in order to receive listings for these channels.
- Use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Editor area from the main menu bar.
- Select the channels that you would like to see listings for. - Use the red colour button to change the setting from "OFF" to "ON".
If the channels that you are looking for are not listed in the Editor area then they are currently not supported in the GUIDE Plus+ system. The channels listed for each reception type (cable, satellite, terrestial, etc.) in the GUIDE Plus+ system have been selected according to their popularity and national availability. However, we are always reviewing customer needs and we constantly review and upgrade our channel lineups to meet these needs.
6 : Can I reorder the position of the channels so that I can have my popular channels on the first screen?
No, the position of the channels may not be altered.
7 : After I performed the initial Setup I found that the channel number for all the channels received via the external set top box are incorrect. How do I correct this?
You can change the channel number in the Editor area according to your preferences:
- Use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Editor area.
- Select the channels that you would like to change.
- Change the source and preset number according to your preferences or to your external receiver settings.
8 : As I navigate through the Grid listings, I found that the picture in the Video Window does not change at all.
Your Video Window is locked, the closed lock icon above the Video Window indicates this. To unlock the video window, access the Grid area and use the red Unlock button. The lock icon will then change to an open lock image.
9 : As I navigate through the Grid listings, the picture in the Video Window does not match the channels I select. What is wrong?
Please check in the channel Editor if the preset numbers of each channel match your personal preferences either on your TV or on your external receiver:
- Use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Editor area.
- Select the channels that you would like to change.
- Change the source and preset number according to your preferences.
In order to ensure that the video window displays the correct channel and even more importantly to ensure that the GUIDE Plus+ unit tunes to the right channel for recording these settings need to be synchronized. If you find any numbers not matching please correct them manually.
