1 : I have NTL cable and found that I cannot get the GUIDE Plus+ unit to control my NTL set-top-box.

Some digital cable boxes deployed by NTL use IRDA instead of Infra Red (IR) signals. In order to use the GUIDE Plus+ system you need to purchase an additional converter such as "RedEye" (www.redremote.co.uk). To install the Red-Eye converter follow these steps:

- Plug the Red-Eye into the back of the NTL box and place it in front of the NTL box.
- Place the G-LINK emitters in front of the Red-Eye.
- Use the up and right arrows on your remote control to access the Setup area.
- Set up your external receiver and select the "RedEye" option from the list of brands.

9 : I have NTL cable, but see that when installing my NTL cable external receiver, I can select between NTL Langley or NTL Bromley as provider. What’s the difference?

NTL runs two different digital platforms called Bromley and Langley. Bromley refers to those areas once served by Cable & Wireless and Langley refers to those areas that were always served by NTL.

A tip to distinguish the platforms: On Langley platform (originally NTL), BBC1 is on channel position 101. On Bromley platform (originally C&W) BBC1 is on channel position 1.
