Many GUIDE Plus+® models come equipped with the SHOWVIEW® / VIDEO Plus+® feature built-in (please refer to the Instruction Manual for your device to verify if this is the case)
Although the GUIDE Plus+ system offers you easy, one-button recording of any programme displayed in the listings, there may be times when you want to use the SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ system. For example, you may have seen an advertisement (with a SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ number) for a movie that will air on TV in two week’s time. Since the GUIDE Plus+ system displays the next 7 days of listings this show would not be included in the GUIDE Plus+ listings. Therefore, you would use the SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ feature to schedule this recording. (Of course, the SHOWVIEW/VIDEO Plus+ feature only works for channels that you receive in your home.)
To schedule a recording using the SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ feature, use the arrow keys to access the Schedule area. Press the red SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ button at the top of the screen (corresponding to the red button on your remote control).
Using your printed TV listings source, find the programme you want to record and its SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ number. Enter the SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ number using the number pad on your remote control and confirm with OK.
The programme’s date, start and end times, channel number, recording quality, timing and destination details are now available in the Schedule screen.
Use the colour action buttons at the top of the screen and the arrow keys to select the item you want to edit such as the recording quality or frequency, the amount of extended recording time you desire, or whether you prefer using the VPS/PDC option. Also; in some GUIDE Plus+ models you will be able use the virtual keyboard to enter a programme title for your SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ recordings:
Press OK to confirm and press Home to return to the Grid area.
Note: You might notice that the programme details area sometimes displays the name of the programme and sometimes only the date and time. The same applies for the programme synopsis. One-button recordings are always linked to the TV listings information, and therefore will always display the progamme name and other details. For SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ recordings, however, the name and synopsis will appear only if the programme you are recording is in the same time frame as the TV listings (i.e. within the next seven days). This allows the GUIDE Plus+ system to “match” the SHOWVIEW / VIDEO Plus+ number to the data in the listings and display its correct title and program synopsis.
