In order for the GUIDE Plus+® system to work properly, each channel must have the correct source and programme number associated with it. The right hand side of the Editor area has columns that indicate the “source” and “programme number” for each channel.
If you have terrestrial analogue service, then all the fields in the source column should indicate “Tuner.” This means that all the channels are received directly through the tuner of your GUIDE Plus+ device.
If you have satellite, cable or digital terrestrial service that uses an external receiver, then all of your channels should indicate “Ext. Rec. 1, 2 or 3”. (Note: The external receiver number is just a label used on-screen, it is not related to the socket into which the receiver is plugged.) Of course, the receiver must already have been installed in “Service Provider” sequence of the GUIDE Plus+ Setup screens.
To change the source indicator for a channel, use the action buttons at the top of the screen. To change the programme number, use the number keys on your remote control.
The programme number listed in the Editor area for each channel must match the number assigned to this channel in the source you are using to receive your TV signal.
Here is an example:
- You use an external receiver as your source
- The channel you are checking in the Editor area is Eurosport - On your external receiver, let's say that Eurosport is assigned programme number 3 (this means that when you press "3" on your external receiver's remote control, the Eurosport broadcast appears on your screen) - So, in the Editor area, make sure that the programme number listed for Eurosport is "003". Use the number keys on your GUIDE Plus+ unit's remote control to change the programme number as necessary.
